marc weiser is developing an audioplay for deutschlandradio kultur / klangkunst together with the german soundartist and art theologian nicolas t. weiser. workingtitle: “ecstatic confessions - the heart of mysticism”. it is based on the anthology of martin buber with the same title, published 1909. beginning with buber’s seminal essay on mysticism, the book offers texts down the centuries from oriental, pagan, gnostic, eastern orthodox, catholic, jewish and muslim sources. it aims to convey some quality of an experience that is essentially beyond the power of words to capture. hopefully there will be a stageversion of the audioplay with video - drawings and livemusicians the 5th of november 2009 at zkm / karlsruhe / germany presented by ard hörspieltage.

music for performance piece by jerome chazeix

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/4a/Waldentitle.jpg/200px-Waldentitle.jpg
marc weiser is working on 2 little music pieces for the french multimedia - artist jerome chazeix. his work focuses elements of our society such as the world of mass-media, with a great attention carried to the aesthetic or derision, mockery, generated through the naive vision of a good child. as in a film (or an opera or musical) the diversity and combination of various media tries to present a complete object in a fascinating relationship and is a way to confront us with an intensive experience. marc weiser did also the music for the installation piece “vogelfalle” by jerome chazeix in 2007, a contribution for the exhibition “walden - the child as medium”, kunsthaus dresden - städtische gelerie für gegenwartskunst.

rechenzentrum - remix for palac

http://www.palac.de/files/palacmusic_logo_small.gif

with straight quotes as much as ghostly shimmmers, Talking to Ghosts has gathered 10 international artists to rework the 2008 “Ghosts” debut-album by Palac, using only what the original release has to offer, featuring new joyful twists, wide dissonant drones and patient re-compositions by El Fog (D/JP), Tilman Ehrhorn (D), Ennio Mazzon (IT), Jerome Pergolesi (FR), NQ (D), Talkigmakesnosense (UK), Moze (JP), Rechenzentrum (D), Sonicbrat (SG), Beneva vs. Clark Nova (NO) and the original artist Palac (D). Not much in the sense of a traditional remix release, but with the general spirit of openess drifting alongside the patterns and samples rumbling through the tracks. Talking to Ghosts is a collection of imaginary places made from gently glitch, compressed orchestral maneuvers and phantom tones, with a partly transparent ghost of internationalism living within. Out June 2009.

zeitkratzer plays “volksmusik”

http://www.zeitkratzer.de/grafiken/volksmusik.jpg
6th of june 2009, zürich - rote fabrik, switzerland @ taktlos festival

volksmusik: zeitkratzer comes with its own sound and immerses into folk music – into still existing folk music, not a leftover phantasm. the precendent research was concentrated on music of the danube abutters, but finally zeitkratzer used every kind of found material that proposed itself for further use: waltz-reminiscences were inescapable, zither and dulcimer are tested for their capability to produce noise, and the trumpet sings the pure and naive overtones of the mountain solitude… the lower Danube valley contributes rhythmical eruptions and finally everything leads to a wonderfull, free uprooting. Listen, be wild, enjoy!
„der standard“ (vienna) cheered for the first performance at the donaufestival: „espacially zeitkratzer could enthuse. It tested folk music from the danube region with means of the classical modernity for its capacity and also catered for moments of humor.

one of the rare images of the stockhausen brothers during a performance at the planetarium 1968 in japan.

the collection of 15 textparts were composed in may 1968, in reaction to a personal crisis, and characterized as “intuitive music“—music produced primarily from the intuition rather than the intellect of the performer(s).
“the piece may be performed only by a special ensemble, all works without conductor, all with electroacoustic equipement. durations variable.” (k.h. stockhausen)
